Monday, March 14th is the deadline to file for a place on the ballot for the Brownwood City Council elections.

Three council seats will be on the ballot this year including Ward 2, currently held by Eddie Watson; Ward 3, currently held by Carl McMillan; and Ward 5, currently held by Jerry DeHay.

Candidates must file an application for a place on the ballot during the filing dates of February 12th through March 14th between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm at City Hall, 501 Center Avenue in Brownwood.  Applications can also be submitted by mail to P.O. Box 1389, Brownwood, TX 76804.

Currently, each incumbent has filed for a place on the ballot with no opposition.  The election is scheduled for May 14, 2011.  If no other candidates file, the election will be cancelled and the incumbents will continue in their current positions for another term.
