Claudia Mae (Parker) Funderburg

FunderburgClaudiaClaudia Mae (Parker) Funderburg departed this earthly life February 28, 2011 at the age of 87 to meet her lord and savior Jesus Christ in paradise.  After a brief battle with cancer Claudia was graciously taken home.  Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday March 03, 2011 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Brownwood with Reverend Nelson Koscheski officiating, interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Claudia was born on February 19, 1924 in Wells, Texas to Edward and Ima Parker.  She married Allen J. Funderburg on September 25, 1940 in Ft. Worth, Texas.  She worked as a bank teller for over 30 years.  Claudia was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.  She also took great pride in raising her family.

She is survived by her son, Allen Funderburg and wife Ann of Austin, TX; a daughter, Linda Money of Brownwood, TX; a sister Vera Chester; a brother Edward M. Parker; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and a beloved niece Billie Groenig.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allen J. Funderburg, and great-granddaughter Katelyn Money.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church at 700 Main Street, Brownwood, TX 76801.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.  Davis Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
