Howard_Payne_logosmallThe Howard Payne University Heritage Singers and Concert Choir will perform a combined concert on Tuesday, February 22, featuring the music of composer Robert Sterling. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Mims Auditorium and is open to the public.

Included on the program will be Sterling’s best-selling arrangement of “Jesus Paid it All,” as well as the premiere performance of his arrangement of the Carpenters’ song “Goodbye to Love,” arranged specifically for HPU’s Heritage Singers.

Sterling is a Dove Award-winning songwriter, composer and record producer. His songs have climbed to the top of Christian pop, Southern Gospel and inspirational radio charts, recorded by artists such as Point of Grace, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Gold City and Sandi Patty. Among his record-producing credits are the gold-certified albums Point of Grace, The Whole Truth and 24 by Point of Grace, as well as the Grammy nominated recording “Love Will” by the Talleys.

Boasting an extensive body of choral compositions and arrangements, Sterling’s work spans thirty years and can be found in the catalogs of Word Music, Alfred Music, Shawnee Press and LifeWay Music. He is a five-time winner of the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award.

For further information, please contact Jill Holamon, administrative assistant for HPU’s School of Music and Fine Arts, at 649-8500.
