BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 2/21

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of February 13th through February 19th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 21 medical emergencies, 1 motor vehicle accidents, 5 fire calls, and 1 hazardous material call.

Calls of interest include:

Sunday, February 13

*11:27am- BFD was called to a grass fire in the 500 block of 5th Street. Firefighters arrived to find a 1 acre lot burning.  Firefighters extinguished fire and cleared scene.

*1:21pm- BFD was dispatched to a grass fire in the 8600 block of Hwy 279. Firefighters arrived to find  a 5 acre grass fire.

*1:27pm- BFD responded to a grass fire in the 3200 block of Milam.  Firefighters arrived at Camp Bowie Sports Complex to extinguish a small fire.

*2:09pm- BFD was called to a grass fire in the 2900 block of Avenue E.  The fire was out on arrival.  Firefighters assisted with mop up.

Monday, February 14

*7:01pm- BFD responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries at the area of Belle Plain Avenue/Sycamore Street.

Tuesday, February 18

*5:36pm- BFD was dispatched to a gas leak in the 900 block of 11th Street to investigate the smell of gas. Upon arrival, it was determined that a gas meter had been hit and was leaking. Atmos was notified.

*11:13pm- BFD was called to investigate report of smoke in the 3100 block of Stephen F Austin.  It was determined to be fog.

Saturday, February 19

*2:34am- BFD was dispatched to assist Brownwood Police Department at 600 N. Center.  Set up ladder for BPD to access rooftop.
