MountaineerFor several years, the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs have been the Lady Mountaineers biggest district rival.  The Lady Mountaineers are now taking the opportunity to pull together to help save a life.

Two year old Cade Perkins, son of Chad and Deann Perkins (Zephyr girls’ basketball coach) has been diagnosed with Leukemia.  The Zephyr ISD will be hosting a spaghetti supper and silent auction on Sunday, February 6th in the school cafeteria.  It will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  All proceeds will benefit the Perkins family in their time of need.  We encourage everyone to attend!

Coach Deann Perkins has been a long time coach at Zephyr and has coached many games against the girls in Santa Anna.  She is well respected by all area coaches and players alike.

The Lady Mountaineers would like to help Coach Perkins and her family and show their support by hosting a bake sale.  The week of January 31-February 4th the girls will be selling approximately 3 cakes each day of the week. The girls will be at the Santa Anna National Bank on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. to collect donations and to sell cakes for that day. If you are interested in supporting this family by making a donation or by purchasing a cake, you may contact Coach Debbie Bacon at 325-348-3138.  Thanks for supporting this family in need!
