TSTC_logoThe only digital signage program in Texas is now also an award winning program.  The Interactive Technology Roll-out award went to TSTC West Texas and partner Scala for the Digital Signage Degree Program and Installation.

“This means that we did it right.  The curriculum of the program is exactly what the State of Texas needs to meet its workforce demands as well as providing relevant training that has meaning and will get the graduate the career they need.  Moreover, this means that the Digital Signage Program is one that will be around for years to come as Digital Signs integrate the advertising market,” said Jason Nichols, Division Chair of Information & Communications Technology at TSTC West Texas.

Forecasters predict that the Digital Signage industry will continue to see strong growth in 2011. Digital Signage, also known as Narrowcasting or Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) advertising, allows information to be displayed on digital screens in almost any location.  They may display advertisements, entertainment, or information and can be changed or scheduled according to season, time of day or day of week.

The DIGI Awards recognize the resellers, integrators and service providers who have gone the extra mile to ensure success for their clients, thereby furthering the digital signage industry as a whole. Additionally, they recognize the best New Products for the digital signage market.

The TSTC Digital Signage degree may be completed online.  The degree includes courses on digital content creation with animation using Adobe Photoshop and Flash, as well as other animation and video software.  Students learn system design and scheduling using well-known industry products.
