Funeral Services for Royce A. Templeton of Brownwood formerly of Bangs, Texas will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Early, Texas Interment will follow at the Richland Springs Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 Saturday at the funeral home. He passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Royce Ashley Templeton was born on February 23, 1919 in Richland Springs, Texas to George and Aurora Willis Templeton. He was a veteran of United States Army having served during WW II. On September 23, 1946 he married Hetty Jenell Shirley in Richland Springs. In 1963 they moved Lawn, Texas and then to Bangs, Texas in 1968 where he had served on the Bangs School Board and the Bangs City Council. He was a farmer, retired building subcontractor, an avid high school sports fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Eighteen Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Olan Dick, sisters Vivian Grimes, Allie Brown and Georgia Jones, brothers Edgar Templeton and Willis Templeton.
