ALPINE, Texas – The Howard Payne men’s basketball team battled back to within one in the second half but fall 77-63 to Sul Ross State University Monday afternoon.
After giving up 10 first half offensive rebounds the Yellow Jackets found themselves down 37-28 at the half.
The Jackets went on a run to start the second and cut the Sul Ross State lead to one several times. Sul Ross was able to hold off the Jackets in the closing minutes to win 77-63.
Howard Payne plays next at home on January 3rd versus Sull Ross State at 3:00 pm.
