GoodSamaritainMinistriesLogoGood Samaritan Ministries report that as of December 1, there have been 3,928 pounds of venison collected for The Deer Project!

This is a great asset for the hungry; however, the amount is still under GSM’s goal for the year.  Their goal for the year is 12,000 so there is still plenty of need for donations to make this year’s goal a reality.

As the month of November closed out, GSM provided food staples to 1,064 families, their highest monthly total for the year.  That total included 83 new families who have never had to ask for help before.

In the first day to provide Christmas boxes, we saw 134 families who picked up their Christmas boxes, some along with their regular food staples.  In most places, it’s good when business is up.  But when business is up at GSM, it just means there are more and more needy and hurting families.

Please remember the many hungry and financially struggling families that GSM supports every day by donating canned goods for the Christmas boxes, donating monetary gifts or deer for The Deer Project.

Anyone who would like to donate any items for the Christmas boxes may bring them to:  Trans Texas Tire, Brownwood City Hall, Burkes Outlet, KOXE, Fit by Faith, Family Services Center, First United Methodist Church Pre-School, Rhinestone Ranch/The Rage, J.B. Stephens Elementary School or Wendlee Broadcasting.

Deer hunters need only to take the deer to a participating local processor and state that the meat is to be donated to The Deer Project.  Local processors participating in The Deer Project are M&M Processing in Zephyr, Ted’s Deer Processing in Owens and Santa Anna Wild Game Processing in Santa Anna.
