BFD: Fire and Rescue Reports 11/30

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of November 21st through November 27th from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 17 medical emergencies, 5 motor vehicle accidents, 2 hazardous material regarding possible gas leaks, and 6 fire calls.

Sunday, November 21

*3:22pm-BFD responded to a grass fire in the 3000 block of US 377.  A small grass fire was extinguished in the railroad right of way.

*4:20pm-BFD was called to a dumpster/trash fire in the 2000 block of 6th St.  Fire was out upon arrival.

Monday, November 22

*4:40pm-BFD was called to a one vehicle accident with injuries in the 400 Block of Sunrise Dr. in Early.  One patient was transported by Guardian EMS.

Tuesday, November 23

*7:11am-BFD was called to a one vehicle accident in the 5500 block of FM 3100.  The accident was due to heavy fog.  Occupants were transported by Guardian EMS.

*3:44pm-BFD was called to a fire at Coggin Park.  Someone had set a roll of toilet paper on fire in the men’s restroom.  The fire was extinguished and the Fire Marshal was contacted.

Wednesday, November 24

*12:12am-BFD was dispatched to a building fire in the 100 block of Lucas Dr. in Early. The structure was fully involved.  BFD assisted Early VFD with extinguishment of the fire.

*3:07am-BFD was called to a two vehicle accident with minor injuries at Main & Austin Avenues. BFD provided first aid. 1 patient was transported by Guardian.

*5:01pm-BFD responded to a two vehicle accident in the 300 block of Main St. There were no injuries.

Friday, November 26

*8:08pm-BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 500 block of W Commerce. Firefighters investigated the smell of gas, nothing found.

*11:25pm-BFD was called to a report of the smell of smoke in the 2100 block of Coggin.  Firefighters investigated with thermal camera; however nothing was found.

*11:56pm-BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1800 block of 10th Street.  The vehicle hit utility pole and one patient was transported to BRMC.

Saturday, November 27

*3:53pm-BFD responded to a brush fire in the 3300 block of CR 180.

*6:16pm- BFD was dispatched to a fire in the 1600 block of Melwood. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming out doors and fire on stove.  The fire was extinguished and stove was removed.  A ventilation fan was used to remove smoke from apartment.

*7:22pm- BFD was called to an outside fire 2001 Austin Avenue, Coggin Park, where firefighters arrived to find Brownwood Police Department with juveniles who started a fire.  The fire was extinguished.
