ChristmasLogo_5KjpgThe Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the addition of a 5K “fun run” to be held in conjunction with the Christmas Under the Stars Festival, December 3rd and 4th.

“Santa’s Sleigh 5K” will take place at Riverside Park on Saturday, December 4th.  Registration and warm up will be at 7:30 AM with a shot gun start promptly at 8:00 AM.  Registration forms are available now through December 3rd at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce or online at VisitBrownwood.com under the Christmas Festival section.    Entry fee for the “fun run” is only $20 if paid by December 3rd; otherwise the fee will be $25 the morning of the race.  T-shirts will be available to the first 75 to register for the race.

Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall winners to be announced at the Awards Ceremony to be held during the Christmas Under the Stars Festival at Howard Payne University, 5:30 PM the evening of December 4th.

All runners are encouraged to dress in Christmas costumes to show their Holiday Spirit. So hop in “Santa’s Sleigh” and join the elves and reindeer for a fun run in the park.

The Christmas Under the Stars Festival will feature many other great activities in addition to the 5K run such as photos with Santa, HPU Concert Choir & Symphonic Band Concert, children’s activities, and so much more.   Go to VisitBrownwood.com for a complete list of activities, times, and locations.
