BRMCImagingandBreastCenterBrownwood Regional Medical Center (BRMC) acquired the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center on November 1, 2010.  The Center is located at 105 Streckert, directly across the street from the hospital and Walker Cancer Center.

The Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center, once remodeled, will provide patients with a calm peaceful environment to receive outpatient imaging services in a convenient location.

The Center will also be the future home of BRMC’s new digital mammography.  Digital mammography provides women with the latest technology in the early detection of breast cancer.  “There is no reason the ladies in our community need to travel to receive state-of-the-art care,” Matt Maxfield, CEO of Brownwood Regional Medical Center, said.  “It’s wonderful that women will be able to receive their digital mammograms without leaving home,” he added.

The Outpatient Center will also offer convenient outpatient services such as: X-Ray, bone densitometry, stereotactic breast biopsy, CT scans, ultra-sonography and open MRI in addition to the digital mammography.  Brownwood Regional Medical Center’s Imaging Department located on the main hospital campus will provide outpatient patients with nuclear medicine/stress tests, fluoroscopy, echocardiograms, interventional radiology studies and closed MRI.

The Breast Center will be the first of its kind, in Brown County and our region.  With the help of Healthy Woman, the community can expect an open house for the newly opened Center after the first of the year.
