Memorial Services for Harvey Lee Shipp, age 75, of Brownwood, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 13, 2010 at the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Artie Woodcox and Dallas Huston officiating. Cremation was held under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Harvey left this earth Monday morning to be with his Savior, parents, stepdaughters, Cathy Cortez and Cindy McDaniel, and three brothers, Dan, Herschel, and Marvin Shipp who preceded him in death.

Harvey was born on September 9, 1935 in Kent County, Texas to Ernest and Callie (Johnson) Shipp. He married Vicki Morford on December 21, 1989 in Brownwood and he owned and operated Harvey Shipp Tire Company. Harvey was an active member of the Downtown Brownwood Lions Club, Mid-Town Baptist Church, was an avid Brownwood Lions Football Fan, and coached Little League baseball in Brownwood for over 10 years. He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Navy. He loved life and touched many in a wonderful way.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Vicki Shipp of Brownwood; daughters, Suzette Key of Idalou, Colette Miller of Fredricksburg, Paulette Digby and husband Chris of Wichita Falls, and Carol Wade and husband Michael of Zephyr, an adopted son Roy Scroggins (Junior);; and the mother of his daughters, Betty Shipp; grandchildren, LeAnn Schmidt and husband Chris, Kyle Newman, Amber Isenburg, Craig Newman and wife Tiffany, Kallie Key, Sarah Digby, and Michael Wade; step granddaughter Tracey Hatley and husband Darrell two great grandchildren, Cassidy Schmidt and Christopher Schmidt and a step great grandson Derek Hatley; a sister, Dorothy Walden and husband Ducky of Abilene, three brothers, Eugene Shipp of Roby,  Winfred and Barbara Shipp of Lake Brownwood, and Andy Shipp of Rotan; along with several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice.
