Funeral services for Joe Hill, age 74, of Blanket, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Brownwood Evangelism Center with Rev. Kenneth Colgrove officiating. Interment will follow at the Blanket Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. He passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 in a local nursing home.

Joe was born on May 16, 1936 in Mitchell County, Texas and was a 1954 graduate of Blanket High School. On May 3, 1979 he married Bettie Bridges at the Community Center in Blanket. He worked at 3M for about four years then started working with GTE and retired in 1991. After retirement he lived in Mason, Texas on the Llano River for about five years before returning to Blanket. He served one term on the Blanket City Council and attended the Brownwood Evangelism Center. Survivors:

23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Myrtle Robison Hepinstall, two sons Darrell and Wayne Hood; one daughter Donna Hood; a grandson Justin Hill and a great grandson Sterling James Harris and one brother Willis Bassham and a sister Dorice.
