Howard Payne University will host the fall revival Encounter Week events September 27-29, featuring Mike Fritscher and the Jeff Johnson Band. Services will be held in HPU’s Mims Auditorium on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. The community is invited to participate in all services.

Fritscher, who was born and raised in the New Orleans area, is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth . He has been the pastor of the Cottonwood Baptist Church in Dublin since 1985. He and his wife, Jon Anne, have three children.

Members of the Dallas-based Jeff Johnson Band include Jeff Johnson (keyboards, guitar, vocals); Jason Dering (drums); Jimmy Green (bass); and Wes Martin (guitars). Since 2004, Johnson and his band have been leading worship from a wide variety of concerts, college and youth events and summer camps. The band currently leads worship weekly at Fellowship Bible Church in Dallas and for Breakaway Ministries at Texas A&M in College Station.
