Greg Giannascoli to Perform in Brownwood Oct. 19th

greggiannascoliLive On Stage, Inc. and Brownwood Area Live On Stage AnnounceGreg Gianniscoli to open their 2010/2011 Concert Season.

Award winning percussionist and recording artist Greg Giannascoli will present his virtuosic percussion performance, featuring works by Bernstein, Kreisler and Gershwin, at Victory Life Church, 901 CC Woodson on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 7:30 pm.

? Greg Giannascoli – known as much for his showmanship as musicianship – is currently touring a diverse program revealing his astonishing breadth of emotion and technique.   Mr. Giannascoli won top honors at the New York Recital/Young Artist Competition in 2001, following his top prize performance at the Patrons of Wisdom International Young Artist Competitionin 1997 (Toronto).  He has performed as a soloist throughout North America, Europe and Asia and recorded four solo albums.  Greg earned his DMA from Rutgers University and is currently on the faculties at the Julliard Pre-College and New Jersey City University.  Mr. Giannascoli will be accompanied by Sebastien Cornut on piano.

Brownwood Area Live On Stage was established in the early 1940’s as a “Community Concert Association” and joined Live On Stage in their 2004-2005 season with a vision to present nationally acclaimed artists and ensembles to the community.  This all-volunteer non-profit organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of Brownwood and the surrounding communities through live performances offered at reasonable, family friendly prices.
