The American Southwest Conference today announced it football players of the week and Howard Payne linebacker Demetrius Cody was honored as Defensive Player of the Week.

ASC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Demetrius Cody, LB, Jr.

Howard Payne junior linebacker Demetrius Cody (Killeen, TX / Early County HS) recorded eight tackles – including five solo and one for a loss – and forced two fumbles to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 32-7 home win over Southwestern Assemblies of God. Cody also had a pass break up and a quarterback hurry to spearhead a unit that allowed just 150 yards of total offense.
