Brownwood Art Association Hosts Multiple Events in September

ArtAssociationLogoThe Brownwood Art Association is getting geared up to have a busy September with events such as the Photography Contest at the Brownwood Reunion, Drawing Classes, and a demonstration by artist Charlotte Taylor.

Tuesday evenings in September drawing classes will be taught by Jeremy Serna.  Classes will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Art Center at 215 Fisk in downtown Brownwood.  Classes are limited to ten people, so contact Melanie Naylor to register by calling 325-647-8543 or by emailing.  mjn332@hotmail.com.  Bring a sketch pad and pencil.

The Brownwood Art Association will be holding their monthly meeting with demonstrating artist Charlotte Taylor Saturday, September 11 from 1:30pm – 3:30pm.  The meeting will be held at the Art Center 215 Fisk in downtown Brownwood and is free and open to the public!

Everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments and conversation with local artists then view the jewelry and sculpture of guest artist Charlotte Taylor while she speaks about her art.

The Brownwood Art Association will be hosting their annual Photography Contest during the Brownwood Reunion.   The Photo Contest will be on display during the following times:

  • Friday Sept. 17th 5pm – 7pm
  • Sat Sept. 18 12pm – 5pm
  • Sun Sept. 19 1pm – 4pm

A reception for the entrants will be held on Friday, Sept. 17th from 5-pm to 7pm.

Visitors viewing the photographs are invited to cast a vote for their favorite image in the People’s Choice selection.  The overall winner of these ballots will receive the People’s Choice Ribbon on Sunday.

The contest is open to photographers age 8-80.  Prizes awarded in Student, Adult, and Professional categories.  Entries are $5.00 each and must be framed.  All subject matter in good taste is accepted.

Photographs will be accepted at 215 Fisk in downtown Brownwood on:

  • Saturday Sept. 11:  11am – 1pm
  • Monday Sept. 13:  11am – 1pm
  • Tuesday Sept. 14:  11am – 1pm & 6pm – 8pm
  • Wednesday Sept. 15:   11am- 1pm
