JowersGladys M. Jowers, age 82, of Bangs, passed away Saturday morning at her home in Bangs with her family by her side.

She was born March 11, 1928 in Overton, Texas the daughter of the late Sam Houston and Maggie Carpenter Perdue. She was married to E. R. Jowers on November 7, 1942 in Anson, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1970. She had lived in Bangs since 1969 moving from Rotan. She worked as a cook at the Texas Youth Commission in Brownwood for over 20 years retiring in 1990. She was a member of The Early Church in Early.

She is survived by

Jackie Jowers of Zephyr
Clayton Jowers of Abilene
Kenneth Jowers of Austin
Randy Jowers of Early 6 Daughters – Barbara Harwood of Crescent
Linda Edwards of Jayton
Brenda Cushenbury of Girard
Donna Norton of Lubbock
Darla Reno of Chico
Dianna Tarpley of San Angelo
Dayna Jowers of Abilene

4 Brothers – J. R. Richards of Shafter, Calif
T. C. Richards of Riverside, Calif
Jacky Richards of Riverside, Calif
Johnny Perdue of Tyler

A Sister – Freda Perdue Olds of Houston, Tx

32 Grandchildren, 61 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren

A host of nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. R. Jowers, Son, David N. Jowers, Daughter, Linda Edwards, and her companion of many years, Jim Perry.
