punkpasskicklogoThe Brownwood Parks & Recreation Department will be conducting a free “NFL PUNT, PASS, AND KICK COMPETITION” on Thursday September 2nd 2010 at 6:30pm at Coggin Park – 2001 Austin Ave. The competition is open for boys & girls ages 6 to 15.

There are five age divisions for boys & girls they are: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15 based upon the child’s age as of December 31st of the current year. The top finisher in each of the boys’ and girls’ divisions from the five age brackets will advance to the Sectional round.

The NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK (PPK) program is a national skills competition for boys and girls to compete separately against their peers. Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program.

Girls and boys in five separate age divisions compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum.  The PPK program is free – both to organizers who host a local competition and to every youngster who wants to participate!

With more than three million boys and girls from around the country taking part in PPK competitions every year from July through January, it is one of the world’s largest youth sports participation programs.

Those interested in participating must provide the following:

  • Copy of a birth certificate
  • NO football shoes, cleats, or turf shoes are allowed. No bare feet.
  • A signed parental wavier form (available at Adams Street Community Center)

Those interested should contact David Withers, Parks & Recreation Director at Adams Street Community Center or (325) 646-0146.
