The Brownwood Lions hit the field on Saturday for their first scrimmage of the 2010 season as they tested their skills against Eastland in the summer heat.  The offense and defense were tested against Eastland players in this modified scrimmage where coaches could evaluate individual player performance as well as team play.

Coaches told players that they were pleased overall with their performance, but noted that the near 100 degree temperatures took their toll on players by the end of the game.

“We still need to work on conditioning,” said Head Coach Bob Shipley.

Players will have three days of practice next week before they travel to Lubbock on Thursday for their next scrimmage.  School will start the next week when the Lions begin their regular season as they travel to Gatesville on Friday, August 27^th.
