LoisInezCoxFuneral services for Lois Inez “Nanny” Cox will be Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Heartland Funeral home Chapel interment will follow at the Cox cemetery near Sidney, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cox passed away Sunday in Abilene, Texas. She was born March 11, 1923 in Leon Junction, Texas to Charlie and Texie Temple Banks. Mrs. Cox was a charter member of the Early First Baptist Church. She loved quilting, cooking, gardening, working in her greenhouse and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On July 18, 1942 she was married to Judy Cox in Comanche County, Texas. Lois was a lifetime resident of the Early community.

She is survived by three sons; Jackie and wife Juanita Cox, Cecil Gail Cox and Jerry Wayne Cox all of Early, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law Imogene Moore of Abilene, Texas and Betty Lou Smith of Odessa, Texas. She has a special great-grandchild Makayla, Mrs. Cox and Makayla took care of each other.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one daughter-in-law.
