2010ReunionLogoOne of the more popular competitions in the past at the Brownwood Reunion Celebration has been the 5K run/1.5 mile walk.  To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Reunion, organizers have expanded the event to include a 10K run as well.

The event, which is sponsored by Brownwood Regional Medical Center and Landmark Life, will take place on the second day of the Reunion Celebration on the morning of September 18th at the corner of Congress and E. Adams in front of the Lehnis Railroad Museum.    Check-in time for the race will be 7am with the 10K starting at 7:30am, 5K starting at 8:00am, and the walk starting shortly thereafter.

Awards will be presented to the first 3 places in each age group, overall male & female & winning team entry. (Teams consist of 3-5 members from a business/group/family, with the top 3 times counting for the team.)

Age groups include 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69, & 70 & over.

Cost to enter the race is $20.00 per individual for preregistration and $25.00 entry fee on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 entries and door prize drawings will take place during the awards ceremony for all participants.

Last year, almost 400 runners participated in the event and organizers have seen this running event grow every year.
