Graveside Services for Jeanne Adkins, 78 and Christa Briana Porter, 55, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with  Bro. Edmond Wheeless officiating under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  Mrs. Adkins passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Nelda Jeanne Adkins was born on July 1, 1932 in Mayes County, Oklahoma to Ross and Gracie Violet Stroud Anderson.  She married Billy Bob Adkins on Novemeber 2, 1950 in Stratford, Texas. Mrs. Adkins had lived at Lake Brownwood since 1984 moving here from Fritch, Texas.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons – Billy Adkins and wife Cheryl of Kansas City, Missouri; Robert Adkins and wife Gay of Garden Ridge, Texas; Charles Curtis Jones of Nevada; six grandchildren – Courtney and Chelsea Adkins, Carissa Seal, Cara Patton, Briana Hayden, and Christa Wilkinson; Brother – Jim Anderson; Sisters – Rosie Patterson, Joann Anderson, Ova Edmonds and Darla Avery; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Christa Briana Porter.
