WTXRehabWest Texas Rehabilitation Center has provided services to the people of West Texas for over 56 years.  It began with one physical therapist treating 17 patients.  Since that time, the Center has grown into a nationally respected program with 200 full-time staff members providing outpatient rehabilitation care each year to more than 28,000 children and adults…regardless of their financial circumstance.  The Round-Up for Rehab program which began in 1960 helps to ensure our mission of help and hope to everyone.

On August 11th, the 51st annual Round-Up for Rehab series of events will kick-off at the Adams Street Community Center.  The Round-Up Special Event starts at 10:00am with a silent auction that provides something for everyone…general merchandise, jewelry, original artwork, quilts, arts & crafts, agricultural items, some really wonderful baked goods and much more.  The Rehab’s own chuck wagon will also be offering a hamburger meal beginning at 11:30am.  The highlight of the day will be a live auction from 12:30pm to 1:00pm conducted by local auctioneer Rex Tackett.

The Brownwood area has been a generous supporter of the Rehab Center with many individuals and families experiencing services first-hand as patients.  As legendary cowboy singer Red Steagall (the Round-Up’s Honorary Chairman) says proudly, “I love doing my part for this organization because it’s a place where neighbor-helping-neighbor is more than just a catchy slogan…it’s a way of living and doing business.”

Heading up the local support for this year’s Round-Up event are Calvin Fryar, Rex Tackett, Evy Winn, Seale Cutbirth, the Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club, Dana Thompson and Ted & Martha Shelton.  Corporate underwriters who are generously supporting the Round-Up program are Bar-G Feedyard, Family PowerSports, Group IV Electric Cooperatives, Lone Star Beef and Strongpoint/Pied Piper Pet and Wildlife.

The Rehab asks that you mark your calendars for August 11th to help support the West Texas Rehab Center and the Round-Up for Rehab Special Event.  Options of support include:  donating an auction item, participating in the auctions or simply making a donation.  Your support will help to make a difference in the lives of those we serve and is always greatly appreciated.

For more information, please contact the West Texas Rehab Center in Abilene at 325-793-3507 or locally Don Holland at 325-646-6307.
