Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water fairly clear; 85 degrees; 6.32′ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Rat–L–Traps off lighted docks at night. Crappie are excellent on Li’l Fishies over brush piles in 10 – 12 feet, and off lighted docks at night in 18 – 20 feet. Channel catfish are good on cut bait over baited holes in 8 – 10 feet. Yellow catfish to 25 pounds are good on trotlines baited with perch in 3 – 10 feet.

Lake Coleman

Water fairly clear; 85 degrees; 8.19′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon seed soft plastic worms and lizards. Hybrid striper are fair on live bait and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 22.66′ low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin or red shad soft plastics, baby bass crankbaits, white spinnerbaits, and live bait worked along grass lines and timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait and chrome crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on shad–colored soft plastic jerkbaits and live bait along tree lines. Channel catfish are good on live and cut bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 85 degrees; 2.26′ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits. White bass are good on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with cut shad. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
