RebeccaCovingtonGraveside Services for Rebecca Jean Wood Covington, 54, of Blanket, Texas will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Santa Anna Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the Heartland Funeral Home.  Rebecca passed away Wednesday at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Rebecca was born on July 14, 1956 to James Richard and Bobbie Brown Wood.  She was raised in Fort Worth, attended Northside High School and had worked as a waitress and a nurse’s aide. Rebecca had lived in Blanket since 1996 and was of the Baptist faith.

Rebecca led a very adventurous life definitely doing everything in her own unique way. Rebecca loved helping people and loved her family a lot.  She was a caring person and thought of others.    She has left this world and, while we are sad and will miss her, we can only hope that she has gone on to join her mother.

She is survived by her son, Troy Covington; her daughter Keely Covington both of Brownwood; siblings Barbara Gibson of Plano Texas, Tommy Farris of Brownwood, Brenda Morgan of Rockville, MD, James Box of Brownwood, and Scott Lucas of Seattle Washington; and long-term  companion Ricky Calhoun of Blanket. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Bobbie Box and James Richard Wood.

Friends are invited to sign the guestbook at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net.  Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
