Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center to Open Swim Lanes & Special Evening Swim Sessions

mainBrownwood City officials, along with Parks and Recreation Department, announce the opening of swim lanes at the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center.

With the attendance at the Camp Bowie Family Aquatic Center being at or near capacity of 424, the swim lane area has not been able to be open.  The city has acknowledged the need for a time to utilize the pool for exercise and at Tuesday morning’s city council meeting mentioned was made of opening the swimming lanes soon.

David Withers, City of Brownwood Parks and Recreation Director, announced today, “Starting Tuesday July 20th for the rest of the season we will be opening the lane swimming area from 11:00-12:30 Tuesday through Friday.”

During this 1 1/2 hour period, swimmers will be allowed to utilize the swim lanes; however all other features of the Aquatic Center complex will be closed.  Standard admission prices will apply.

Two evening swim times will also be offered.  The second session swim times will be from 6:30pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, July 28th and Wednesday August 4th.  On these days the pool will close at 6:00pm and reopen at 6:30pm.  Standard admission prices will apply during these second swim sessions as well.
