JennyRobertsBrownwood ISD has announced the hiring of Jenny Roberts as the new principal for Woodland Heights Elementary.  Roberts has 20 years of elementary education experience, as well as numerous certifications, awards and accomplishments.

Roberts graduated from Texas A&M University with an Undergraduate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Elementary Teaching Certificate with specializations in Early Childhood, Math and Reading.  She began her career teaching 4th, 5th, and 2nd grades for a total of nine years.

In 1996, Roberts obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching and a Texas Reading Specialist Certification, as well as a Masters of Education and a Texas Mid Management Certification from Angelo State University.

Roberts was the Assistant Principal for one year at Brady Elementary, then became the Principal for North Ward Elementary in Brady, where she has been for the the past 10 years.

Roberts has multiple recognitions, including being named TEPSAN of the Year for District 15 (Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association), Nominated for the HEB Excellence in Education Award, Nominated for Principal of the Year by the Texas Council for Teachers of Science, and served as District 15 President of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association.

According to Roberts, what she likes the most about being a principal is “being on the campus with the kids and teachers, and working along side faculty, staff, and families to support everyone’s success and reaching every child’s potential.”

In regards to Woodland Heights Elementary, Roberts said, “Woodland Heights is an amazing campus. I hope to continue the great things that are going on, and to support teachers and kids and help families.  All of us together can reach our potential.”

Roberts has two sons, Tucker, who will be in 7th grade, and Tanner, who will be in 2nd grade. “Our family is excited and looking forward to being a part of the community here in Brownwood, Texas!”
