Free County Wide Clean-Up Set for Saturday June 19th, Seeking Volunteers

KeepBrownwoodBeautifulLogoThe partnership of Keep Brownwood Beautiful and the City of Brownwood Sanitation and Landfill Departments are sponsoring a county wide clean up and E-waste Collection this Saturday, June 19th from 8am to 2pm.  This will allow residents get rid of many unwanted items at no cost.

Clean-up Items that will be accepted include brush, yard debris, household garbage, latex and spray paint (limit 20 gallons), metal, appliances, anti-freeze, car batteries, recycling, car tires (max 8 per household), and used motor oil (limit 5 gallons).  No hazardous waste please.

E-waste items accepted during the event include computers, monitors, printers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, digital cameras, networking equipment, UPS, PDAs, VCR/VCD/DVD players, MP3 players, cell phones, dry cell batteries, cost for TV disposal $5.00 (charge for TVs and monitors only).

The County Wide Clean-up will take place Saturday, June 19th from 8am until 2pm under the Austin Avenue Overpass at Avenue A & Brady Avenue.

*Keep Brownwood Beautiful is still looking for volunteers to staff the recycling trailer during the clean-up.  If you are involved in a charitable group or are a member of another organization that requires volunteers service hours, please call Cary Perrin at 325-641-0533.  Support a great cause and help be a part of cleaning up our community.
