Funeral services for Harold Hodges Sr., 81, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Marion Cemetery in Lohn, Texas with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Heartland Funeral Home. He passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in a local nursing home.
Harold Winford Hodges was born on July 11, 1928 in Lohn, Texas to Paul and Helen Roberson Hodges. He served in the United States Navy during WW II. On, August 31, 1952 he married Kaylene Wigner in Lovington, New Mexico. Mr. Hodges was of the Baptist faith and had lived in Brownwood since 1992 moving here from Hobbs, New Mexico.
Survivors include two daughters Charlotte Russell and husband Ernest of Brownwood, Texas, Anna Gee and husband Gary of Andrews, Texas; two sons Dean Hodges and wife Mary Ann of Hobbs, New Mexico, Harold Hodges Jr. and wife Anita of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother Paul Hodges of Big Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother Allen E. Hodges.
