Multiple units responded to a fire on Burnet St. at Lake Brownwood Sunday night after a report of an explosion.

Fire dispatch reported around 9pm that a travel trailer exploded causing flames to spread to a nearby home.  The Lake Dam Volunteer Fire Department and the Brownwood Fire Department responded to the scene with flames and heavy smoke enveloping the home.  Brown County Sheriff’s deputies and Texas DPS Troopers kept the large crowd of onlookers a good distance away for safety.  The fire was burning catty-corner to the Lake Dam Fire Department Station in the Lake Haven area of Lake Brownwood.

It took firefighters well over an hour to extinguish the blaze.  Fire units secured the area and left the scene after midnight Monday morning.  No injuries were reported and the fire is currently under investigation.
