mercerThe Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce honored local law enforcement officers from several agencies on Friday at their Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon.

The Brownwood and Early police departments, Brown County Sheriff’s office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Brownwood Lake Patrol, and TSTC officers were all present and recognized at the event.  Local business owners purchased lunch for all of the officers in attendance as a “Thank You” for their service.

Several agencies took the opportunity to give awards to officers on their force.  Early Police Chief David Mercer gave their “Officer of the Year” award to Sgt. Shawn Dibrell for his outstanding service for the year (see photo above).  Sgt. Jason Shea of the Texas Department of Public Safety honoured CID Agent Roy Parrack for his service and hard work (see photo below).

Captain Tony Aaron of the Brown County Sheriff’s office also recognized his deputies and officers for shaetheir continued service to the county and community.   Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley addressed those in attendance and thanked the community for the warm welcome he has received since his arrival.

He said that he is pleased to be a part of the Brownwood Police Department and looks forward to serving the community. (see a short video of Chief Corley’s address below).
