EarlyPDLogoEarly Police Chief David Mercer reported a few cases involving drugs and public intoxication last week.

On Friday evening, at 5:20pm, Early Police Officer Johnny Brown responded to Heartland Mall regarding a report of a man soliciting money and causing a disturbance. The individual, 43-year-old Ronnie Patterson, was found to be intoxicated according to Chief Mercer.  Patterson told Officer Brown that he was an undercover narcotics informant and he needed to be left alone to do his work.  Patterson said he was soliciting money to buy cocaine for a drug case police said. Patterson was arrested for public intoxication and taken to Brown County Jail.

In other unrelated reports:

-Saturday at 11:20pm, Sgt. Shawn Dibrell and Officer John Mills conducted a follow-up on information received regarding drug activity at a local apartment complex in the 1000 block of Early Blvd.

Officers made contact with 27-year-old Israel Mendoza Arriaga who surrendered a small amount of marijuana police reports state. Officers then searched further and located more marijuana and paraphernalia. Arriaga was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and taken to the Brown County Jail.

-Wednesday at 6:30pm, Officer Pattiemae Furry investigated a criminal mischief case in the 600 block of Longhorn where the rear window of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was broken out. The investigation is continuing in that case.
