Strong to severe thunderstorms across the south plains this morning will push southeast towards and into west central Texas reaching the Big Country early this afternoon and tracking across the northern Concho Valley and the Heartland later today. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats along with locally heavy rainfall.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 600 pm for the following locations:  Borden, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Concho,

Eastland, Erath, Fisher, Garza, Hamilton, Haskell, Jack, Jones, Kent, King, Lampasas, Mason, McCulloch, Mills, Mitchell, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Runnels, San Saba, Scurry, Shackelford, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor, Throckmorton, and Young counties.
