Several Brownwood athletes traveled to Austin over the weekend for the 2010 state track & field meet. Over 50 teams participated in the 3A state meet and Brownwood made their presence known in several events.
Senior Clemitra Smiley took home a second place medal in the 100m dash with a time of 12.44. Brownwood’s Stehl Ratliff was third place in the pole vault event with a 15-06.
The Lions also placed in several other events over the weekend. Jaxon Shipley took 5th in the long jump as well as 5th place in the 110m hurdles and 7th in the 300m hurdles. Derek Longoria was 4th in men’s discus, Josh Reece was 7th place in the 400m dash, and Samantha Henry took 5th place in girl’s discus.
