According to Brownwood Police, officers responded to the location on Avenue D due to information about a possible stolen car.  Upon arrival, the officer noted the suspected car parked on the side of the house, but after circling back to the house, the car had been moved to the back yard under a tree, which seemed to be in efforts to conceal the vehicle, the police reports state.

Police questioned several individuals at the home and determined that a man had been trying to sell the vehicle to one of those present.   Witnesses told police that the person trying to sell the car fled the area on foot when officers arrived.

After speaking with a detective at Abilene Police Department, Brownwood police confirmed that the white mustang was in fact stolen.  The vehicle was impounded at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center.  Inside the vehicle, police found personal information and items relating to the man who had fled the scene on Wednesday the police reports state.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
