KeyClubMembers of the Brownwood High School Key Club went to the 61st Annual Texas-Oklahoma District Convention, April 15-18, and returned with bragging rights. The Key Club entered numerous contests and won several awards:

2nd place trophy for Major Emphasis Project, which was the March of Dimes Baby Bottle Challenge generating over $1900.00.

2nd place trophy for club T-shirt design, which will advance to the Key Club International Convention T-shirt contest.

1st place trophy for Single Service Project, which was the Fall and Spring Blood Drives.

Distinguished Website Patch, Membership Growth 50% Patch, District Project Patch for Key Club Coloring the World, and Governor’s Project Patch for R.E.A.D.

Finally, the Brownwood High School Key Club was ranked 6 in the Top 25 Key Clubs in the Texas-Oklahoma District.  “I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication in service hours that the Key Club members have put into our club’s projects this year,” said Pam Rider, Club sponsor. “Because of all of them we came home with all the recognitions. I would also like to thank the faculty, administrators, Brownwood Kiwanis Club and the community for their support and encouragement to our members and the Key Club as a whole.”

The members who attended the convention also attended sessions on how to grow their club in numbers and activities.  Key Clubs focus all their efforts on service, and the BHS Key Club has certainly taken that mission to heart.

Photo Contributed.  Attending the Key Club convention were BHS Officers, Kaysha Ridley, Webmaster, Mia Morin, Incoming President, Valerie DeLaRosa, Current President and Cassandra Seabourn, Historian.
