At Howard Payne University’s non-academic awards on Wednesday, HPU seniors Lane Wakefield and Katie Curry were named Mr. and Ms. HPU, based on a student body vote. Wakefield is a business major from Waco, and Curry is a practical theology major from Farmington, New Mexico. The awards event was hosted by the Student Government Association.

Additional awards were presented for the following categories – Freshman: Favorite Male – Jimmy Cuellar; Favorite Female – Whitney Sirois; Class Beau – Tyler Heidelberg; Class Beauty – Danielle Wells. Sophomore: Favorite Male – Adam Hardy; Favorite Female – Kandace Schuelke; Class Beau – Richard Reid; Class Beauty – Cara Heidelberg. Junior: Favorite Male – John Jackson; Favorite Female – Jessica Silva; Class Beau – Remington Reed; Class Beauty – Lyndsey Garrett. Senior: Favorite Male – Corbin Young; Favorite Female – Stephanie Jeske; Class Beau – Trevor Brown; Class Beauty – Katie Curry. Friendliest Freshman: Male – Tyler Heidelberg; Female – Laura Peisker. Friendliest Upperclassman: Male – Scott Perkins; Female – Jeffri Malone.
