Baseball: JV Lions Victorious over Sweetwater

brownwoodlionslogoThe Brownwood Lions Junior Varsity baseball team scored a big win against Sweetwater  Tuesday in District 2-3A play at Morris Southall Field in Brownwood.

The team came up with a 5 run lead in the 5th inning.  Four more runs were scored by Brownwood, increasing their lead and allowing Sweetwater only 3 runs in the 6th inning.  The rest of the game was scoreless with a Brownwood JV taking a win:  Sweetwater 3, Brownwood 9.

The JV Lions are 7-14 overall for the season and 3-5 in district play.  Brownwood JV next game will be Saturday, April 24 at 11 AM vs. Snyder JV at Morris Southall Field…which is the last game of the season.

1. Mitch Stephens (WIN) – 5 Innings / 3 Runs / 5 Hits / 9 Strikeouts / 1 Walk / 2 Hit Batters
2. Scott Kinzler (SAVE) – 2 Innings / 0 Runs / 0 Hits / 3 Strikeouts / 0 Walks

Brownwood JV Offensive Stats:
1. Graham Mask – 1 for 3 (Triple / 2 RBIS)
2. Bryant McDaniel – 1 for 3 (Double / Walk / 2 Stolen Bases / 1 Run Scored)
