RefugioRomeroRefugio Romero, age 68 of Brownwood passed away Saturday April 17, 2010 in Brownwood.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday April 20, 2010, in Greenleaf Cemetery.  Visitation is set for Monday April 19, 2010 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm.

Refugio Romero was born July 3, 1941 to Eugenio and Juanita Romero in Villa Union, Mexico.  He married Maria Castillo on June 8, 1957 in Villa Union, Mexico.  Refugio was a resident of Brownwood for over 40 years.  Refugio was a very funny and outgoing person.  He was also the undisputed “Man of The House”.  Refugio enjoyed ranch life, and had a particular fondness for raising roosters. He also enjoyed other hobbies such as fishing and cooking out.  Refugio was a devout family man, and truly enjoyed playing and spending time with his granddaughter.

Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Magda Romero, and his sister Ofelia Pesina. Survivors include his wife Maria Romero, his two children; Jose Eugene“Ricky” Romero and Victoria Estrada, four brothers; Jose Romero, Juan Vallejo, Jr., Armando Vallejo, and Juan M. De Leon, five sisters, Isidra Solis, Amparo Garza, Guadalupe Montantes, Graciela Bernal, and Marta Ramirez, and two granddaughters; Melanie Romero and Ysairis Estrada.
