MarilynnOdomMarilynn Frances Odom, 80, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2010, in Brownwood, Texas.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a person who loved life, her family, her many friends and her pets.

Lynn was born February 4, 1930 in Cameron, Texas to Frank Y. & Florence Moore moving to Brownwood in 1940, where she finished her schooling.  In 1948, she met and married William H. Odom II, a career Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer.  Together they traveled the world, moving to various Air Force Bases for the next twenty years. These included Okinawa, England, Japan and many bases in the United States.  She was well known for her skill to move into base housing one day, set up her house the next and making it a home as if there had lived there for years.   Upon SSgt. Odom’s retirement, they returned to Brownwood in 1965 and never left.  Lynn was known throughout the craft community of Brownwood for the exceptional artistic skills, her knowledge of antique dolls, and her generous willingness to share those talents with others.

Lynn is survived by her husband, William H. Odom II, her daughter, Claudia Curtin of Atlanta, GA., her son, William H. Odom III, of Brownwood, TX. , a granddaughter, Allison Curtin, of Atlanta, GA., her sisters, Lucy Matthews, of Washington and Marjorie McKee of Layton, Utah.  Her parents, sisters, Harriet Norman, Pat Nabors and her brother, Frank D. Moore, preceded her in death.

Lynn’s family wants to express their deepest gratitude for all the friendships made and the kindness & compassion shown to her, especially to the Staff of Oak Ridge Manor, where she resided for the last six years.  She treasured each and every one of you.

Lynn was cremated under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Graveside services will be announced at a later time.

Condolences may be made to the family at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com.
