Irene Rash

RashFuneral Services for Irene Rash, age 105, of  Brownwood, formerly of Aspermont will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 27, 2010 at the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce Craig officiating, interment to follow at 3:00 p.m. in Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont, under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Rash passed away Tuesday March 23, 2010 in Brownwood.

Irene was born February 11, 1905 in Indian Territory, Ok to James Turner Hulsey Sr. and Martha Lorene (Grant) Hulsey. She married Vernon Rash on August 19, 1923 in Peacock, Tx. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Aspermont.

Lorene is survived by  three daughters Neta Workman of Mineral Wells, Marilyn and Ron Richer of Brownwood, and Gay Gibson and O.J. Purcell of Brownwood; grandchildren, Anthony Rash and wife Cary, Malcolm Rash and wife Ann, Eddie Rash and wife Margie, Donna Montez, Jan Coplen, Linda Price and husband Randy, Roy Winter and wife June, Joe Ed Workman, Melinda Harvey and husband Sean, Don Gibson, Lisa Hoffman and husband Mike, Bill Gibson, Jim Gibson and wife Patricia, and Donna Miller and husband Mike; 10 step grandchildren; two daughter in laws, Laverne Rash, and Hahney Rash; son-in-laws, Edd Workman, and Charles Gibson; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon Rash; two sons, J.V. Rash Jr., and Doyle Rash; a daughter Pat Winter; son-in-law, N.L. Winter; grandson, Wayne Rash; great grandson Michael Rash; sister Viva Fleming; and brothers, Herman, Turner, and Clarence Hulsey.
