JohnGuestCalvin Fryar, Chairman of the Board, announced today the promotion of John P. Guest to President of Citizens National Bank at Brownwood and the election of Guest and T. Keith Clark to the Board of Directors.

“We believe the best service is local service,” Fryar said, “and we’re very active in preserving the “hometown” spirit and ideals that make our community a great place to live.  As with any organization, change is inevitable,” Fryar continued, “however, our focus since 1934 has been to remain home-owned and operated to better serve the needs of our friends and neighbors.”

“Our Board is confident that by promoting from within the bank a local man who is well acquainted with our community that Citizens National Bank will continue to be the financial leader in Brown County.  We look forward to the new era of leadership by a very capable, talented, and experienced banker”, Fryar said.

KeithClarkGuest, who’s appointment is effective immediately, has been with Citizens since 1982, most recently serving as Executive Vice President..  He brings to the position 28 years of banking experience and over 31 years of lending experience.  He began his career in 1979 as an emergency loan supervisor for the former Farmers Home Administration in Brownwood.  He is a 1990 graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking, a 1979 graduate from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture business and is a 1975 graduate of Abilene High School.

Guest has been actively involved in the community since moving to the area 31 years ago.  Presently he serves on the Board of the Zephyr Water Supply.  He is a past board member of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club and the Brown County Fair Association where he also served as treasurer for several years.

Guest is married to Jan May Guest, who recently retired from Early ISD where she had served as a high school teacher for 29 years.  They have one 13 year old daughter, Jacey, who attends Early Middle School.
