A graveside funeral service for Ruth Norton, age 95, of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening.

Mrs. Norton died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Brownwood.

Louetta Ruth Norton was born April 27, 1914 in Brown County to Willie H. and Essie (Fortson) Hubbert and married Russell Duvall Norton.  Ruth worked as a beautician and owned her own beauty shop.  She was a lifelong resident of Brown County and a member of Union Presbyterian Church.

Ruth is survived by six nieces, Joyce Anderson of San Antonio, Jolene Orand of Anchorage, Alaska, Barbara Gathright of Abilene, Rosemary Nelson, of Dallas, Renea Fritsch of Austin, Dr. Marsha Norton Chabak of Midland, and a nephew, Dr. Jerry Norton of Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Sharon Earlene Norton Cheney.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
