This cheer will be heard all throughout the halls of First Baptist Church Brownwood next week.  From Monday, March 8th through Friday March 12th, children from kindergarten through 6th grade will be involved in Champs Camp. This sports-based Christian day camp is designed to aid families who have a need for child care during the week of spring break.  The ministry opportunity, offered by FBC Brownwood, is spearheaded by the Children’s Ministry of the church.

Kandice Ford, Children’s Ministry Director at FBC, stated that Champs Camp is a time to “… train champions and help kids discover sweet victory in Jesus Christ.”  Each day, children will be taught basic principles of four sports:  football, basketball, soccer and cheerleading.  According to Rev. Joe Franklin, Minister of Education & Administration at FBC, members of the church will be the primary support mechanism for the event, but will welcome assistance from students of both Howard Payne and Lamar Universities.

Registration for the event will continue throughout this week.  Parents can pre-register their children by visiting the church website at www.fbcbrownwood.org, and clicking on the registration link.  Children can also be pre-registered by calling the church office at 646-8505.  While pre-registration is helpful, children can also be registered at the door Monday morning.

Cost for the event is $48 dollars for one child, and $43 for each additional child in a family.  Each child will need to bring a sack lunch, and should be brought to “The Brick” behind FBC Brownwood by 8:00 AM.  Hours for the day-long event are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  For more information, visit the church’s website, or call 646-8505.
