Howard Payne University hosted United States Congressman Mike Conaway (R-TX) on campus Monday, February 22, for an informational press conference on free federal tax return filing options.
The topic for discussion was the IRS Free File Alliance website community members.”
Chris Long, a representative for the Computer & Communications Industry Association, stated that approximately 70 percent of the American population is eligible to use these resources. Andrew McDevitt, a representative from the Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation, also provided information to attendees on their product, TurboTax Freedom Edition.
Following the press conference, an hour-long demonstration and training was conducted for community organizations on TurboTax.
