Longtime Brownwood city Councilman Dave Fair has announced that he will not seek re-election for his seat in Ward 4 in the upcoming city elections. Fair is supporting candidate & local businessmen Draco Miller who is running for the Ward 4 council seat.
Last month, Ward 1 Councilman Darrell Haynes also announced that he would not seek re-election for his seat. Brownwood resident Steven McCrane has filed as candidate for this position.
Local attorney Stephen Haynes has filed as candidate for city Mayor. No word yet regarding current Mayor Bert Massey’s intentions of running for another term.
Candidates for municipal elections have until March 8 to file for their place on the ballot for Mayor or Councilman for Ward 1 & Ward 4. City elections are set for May 8th.
