ConawaySpiritawardEarlier this week, Congressman Mike Conaway received the US Chamber’s “Spirit of Enterprise” Award.  The award signifies the Chamber’s appreciation of those individual senators and representatives who are identified as strong supporters of free enterprise in America.

Throughout the legislative session, the US Chamber tracks the voting records of each Senator and US Representative.  Members of Congress whose votes align with the US Chamber’s position at least 75% of the time are presented with “The Spirit of Enterprise” Award. Since his election to the House of Representatives, Congressman Conaway has received the award.

On behalf of the US Chamber, Laura Terhune, CEO of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, presented the award to Conaway.  She stated, “We are pleased and honored for the opportunity to present this award to Congressman Conaway.”  She continued, “His votes are consistently business-friendly and we are grateful for his strong voice in serving the rural communities of West Texas.”
