BucioJorgeAccording to Brownwood Police reports, Friday night about 10 pm, officers were called to the 1300 block of Avenue G where a man was passed out in the yard of a vacant home.  A neighbor had reported the man riding up on a bike, stumbling and falling to the ground.  It was noted in the reports that Officers Self & Bastardo found him face down and after a few minutes were able to awaken the “obviously intoxicated man.”

According to the police report, when officers asked him what his name was, he replied with slurred voice, “My name is George Bush.”  Officers noted, although it was humorous and nonthreatening, it was important for officers to positively identify the man. The reports further noted that the man was asked two more times to identify himself, each time he replied, “My name is George Bush.”

The police report indicates that when officers arrested the man for public intoxication, they searched him and found his billfold with his I.D. which showed he was 45-year-old Jorge Bucio of Brownwood. According to the report, Officer Bastardo believed he finally admitted to being Jorge Bucio.  In the police report, the responding officer noted that “Having Bucio in the Brownwood Police computer system with a picture, it was confirmed that I did in fact have Jorge Bucio, not George Bush in custody.”

It was noted in the report that as Bucio was booked into the jail, a search found a small amount of marijuana in his right front pocket.  Bucio was not only charged with Public Intoxication, but also charged with Possession of Marijuana < 2oz. and Failure to Identify.
